The Roadmaster Nighthawk is a non-binding, aluminum alloy tow bar designed use with Blue Ox baseplates. The Nighthawk has the longest tow bar arms ever produced, for maximum stability while towing. Aesthetically, the Nighthawk emulates the clean, sleek look of the Roadmaster Sterling All-Terrain Tow Bar, with which it shares many performance and convenience features. Unique to the Nighthawk, however, is a dazzling row of amber LEDs along each tow bar arm that illuminate with the motorhome’s lights. The 300-lumen LEDs add safety and convenience to nighttime towing. What was the darkest portion of the towing system is now easily visible to other drivers, and also visible when it comes time to disconnect. The Nighthawk features Freedom Latch non-binding technology – no more binding or skinned knuckles. A patented cam design inside the Freedom Latch transforms linear motion into rotary motion at a 400-to-1 ratio – five pounds of force against the latch equals 2,000 pounds of force against the lock. Freedom Latches release at any angle or bind, first time, every time, so you’ll never have to straighten and align your towed vehicle to release the tow bar. A unique eggshell design distributes pressure throughout the tow bar, making the Nighthawk one of the world’s strongest aluminum tow bars. The black matte powder coat finish is attractive, durable, and textured for easy grip. Solid stainless steel inner arms and self-lubricating nylatron bushings provide smooth, trouble-free operation. Built-in channel guides protect the safety cables and the power cord. Safety cables and power cord are included, both are coiled at the motorhome end to extend their reach and keep them off the pavement. A storage latch folds the tow bar and it automatically locks in place.
